Hello! to my fellow travel nurses out there, have you had a hard time prequalifying for a mortgage due to our "low reported salary". I know the advantage of travel nursing is that our stipends are tax-free and our reported salary doesn't reflect our full take home pay. I am planning on buying investment property in the future and am concerned that this may affect how much I am preapproved for. Anybody out there with past experience that they can share?
Thanks!

Depends on the lender. Some will accept your contract for proof of total compensation. Assuming you settle down somewhere sometime, your earning potential could also count as a staff nurse.
The same can apply to things like workers comp and disability. These benefits (hopefully you never qualify) may require a lawyer to get agencies to consider your full compensation.
