Hey guys! just posting up a thread to see if anyone is applying to fgcu nursing program this upcoming fall
littlekrickett, i have a feeling you will be getting your letter in no time. I think its usually an issue if your GPA is around LOW 3's. Students will not have any room for wiggle once in the program even if they do well on the Teas. But your combo is absolutely okay.
I'm a transfer student as well, so my GPA is around 3.54 or maybe a little higher, not sure yet. I'm in my last semester of Prereq's but so far my prereq gpa is a 4.0. No class repeats. My GPA is lower because of some classes i took a LONG time ago.
But from various professors i have heard that 3.5 and above is what they look for, but with your Teas score it wont matter!
I calculated mine based on only the courses FGCU accepted.. but I dunno if I got it right or not. Who knows. I hope so.. FGCU is my Number 1 choice.. My problem is FGCU is one of the only schools in FL that doesn''t have a 10 yr rule. Some of my PreReqs are really old. LOL .I have applications at other schools in other states.. but boy do I love the FL Sunshine.
Littler rickety, your gpa for the fgcu nursing program is ALL the classes you ever took. I sat down with a counselor and calculated mine. They look at your prerequisite gpa but what they are looking at is all incoming individually. They put the credit hours and quality points in a calculator and determine your overall gpa.
Hi Everyone!
I applied as well, I wasn't very happy with my TEAS I got a 74 overall but a 79 in my science section my math brought me down a ton. When i applied i had a 3.5 GPA but will have a 3.6 after this semester! I am starting to get really really impatient i just want to know if i got in!!!

ouch, if that's how they decide and pick those in the program percentile range I'm Screwed! I am in the 71%. I did decent on my science and reading, just not so hot on the other two.
