Applying to CCBC catonsville or essex?

Published

Which campus will you be applying to and why? I'm so nervous about applying because I don't want to be wait listed or worst yet rejected. I have no idea about which campus I will apply to, but it will be the day program. I've heard that the catonsville campus is easier to get into. But who really no's. Do you really think that most of the applicants have a 4.0 GPA? I'm at a 3.62 overall but only a 3.3 for the 3 science and 2 others that are evaluated. I'm taking my TEAS again because I only got an 87 in reading and a 72 overall. I am totally stressing out because I don't no if I should repeat anything else. How is everyone else feeling?

Hi,

I wanted to reply since no one else has. I am starting the second semester at Catonsville this fall. I just completed fundamentals. I am in the day program. My experience so far has been wonderful. The faculty( lecture, clinical and lab instructors) are simply wonderful. They really want you to succeed. I don't know anything about Essex apart from hearsay.

When I applied last september my overall gpa was 3.46 and my pre-reqs gpa was either 3.1 or 3.2. You do not need a 4.0 gpa. I thought I heard the teas score for reading has been reduced. But when I applied I got 90 in reading and my total score was 77. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I only took the teas once, it was the only school I applied to and my first time of applying to a nursing program.

Anyway, just wanted to share my personal experience. I think you have a very good chance of been admitted.

Good luck.

Thanks for responding, this makes me feel alittle better. I just don't want to waste an entire semester because I didn't get in to Essex. Thats so much.

the reading section new minimum is 85%. i got a 90% in reading and 70% overall. i am super nervous about getting accepted. i am afraid my gpa and teas isn't good enough. i currently have a 3.0 gpa for my nursing prerequisites. i am taking micro and psych this summer. i know i will at least get a b in micro but i am hopeful for an a.

i applied to the essex campus because it is closer to where i live. i too have heard that catonsville is easier to get into. my friends and family keep telling me not to worry so much, but how can i not.

good luck! i hope you make it!
