Applied for L&D internship

I've recently applied for a Labor and Delivery internship. Part of me would love the joy of bringing little one's into the world and for the most part be a rewarding job. On the other hand, the thought of doing an exam scares me and how things can change so quickly! It's not just one life, it'd be taking care of 2. I'm scared of getting into it and not liking it. I really enjoyed my L&D rotation in school. I'm hearing some people get in it and don't like it and other's get into it and never leave? What are your thoughts?

I've also applied to an OBGYN floor, which sounds exciting. Dealing with general surgies, high risk antepartum and postpartum patients.

I'm a new RN (graduated in May), previous LPN for a year and a half and been on Ortho basically since becoming a nurse. I'm ready for a change and kind of confused of what I'd like to do, which i've heard is totally normal. Suggestions/Comments???
