Application Meeting WCCCD

Published

I attended the applicatiobn meeting yesterday. Yea it's finally over. I will probably be a nervous wreak until I hear something. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. All we had to do was fill out the application, make sure all of our documents were correct and turn it in. I should hear something in the later part of June. Good Luck to all apllying for August admissions. One more thing it wasn't as many people there as I thought it would be!:nurse:

There's enough time for planning, but I wanted to add a reminder of bringing your HS transcript, GED certificate, OR a copy of your HS Diploma.

There were two people that forgot (at the 19th meeting) and they were told to come back when they had it.

Another person sitting by me forgot his information meeting receipt; he was also told to come back.

I purposely attended the meeting on the 19th, so that I could fall-back on the 30th (last meeting for fall program).

Teresa, I was at the 19th meeting as well for the exact same reason. However, only Mrs. N was there and when I turned in my application she didnt even look at it. They had the list of things on a white board for you to check off to be sure you had everything. I was told that they usually went through each packet when you turned them in to be sure you had everything. I double checked my double checking to be sure everything was there, but I can't help but feel nervous that I could have missed something. Any idea when we will get letters? I have heard sometime the middle of July, (6 weeks from the last application meeting), but I don't take anything I "hear" for granted! Any ideas?

In regard to Mrs.N facilitating the meeting on her own: a few friends thought of that as a 'plus' and a way of getting out of there earlier than expected. I more so agree with you. I would rather have one of them look it over, than to LOOK OVER including something.

I can only hope she remembers, but I had to point something out to her in my packet. She was very nice about it and gave me her full-attention.

I'm confident in my GPA and secondary GPA. What I'm not confident about is my NET score. I hadn't taken a math course since 1989, and didn't have a chance to review/study for it because my youngest underwent his seventh craniofacial surgery the month prior - and to make matters worse, one week before the NET, he took a horrible stumble down our cement stairwell and suffered head trauma. In hindsight, I'm thankful I passed...but barely.

People continuously tell me that my 3.77 GPA doesn't warrant their looking at my NET - I hope they're right.

So, if you applied too - we may be nursing classmates :clown:
