Anyone working at or know of Midland Memorial hospital?

I was wondering if anyone can give me any information on Midland Memorial Hospital inTX. They have a residency program that I am interested in. Do you like it there, the hospital, the town, the culture........any information would be most helpful. Thanks!

I worked there very briefly a few years ago in their ER as a psych assessor for the local psych hospital, so I can't really say how it is now. It seemed ok - the ER staff was pretty ok. Living locally, I have heard both good and bad things, but for the most part I've heard good. The pay is about average for the area too.

Sorry I couldn't tell you more, but it is a start... Anyone else have more info?

I currently work at Midland Memorial Hospital (for the last 6 years) and believe it is a great place to practice the art and science of nursing. It is an exciting time at MMH, we just had the groundbreaking ceremony for our 2 year new construction project. The hospital offers an 18 week RN residency using the Versant program. We have shared governance and staff are encouraged to participate. The benefit program (medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, etc.) is very good, and includes tuition reimbursement for advancing your degree. There are also scholarships available for degree advancement. MMH is a national leader in electronic documentation and is a HIMSS level 6 hospital. We have been recognized by AHA for Coronary Artery Disease care (Get with the Guidelines Gold award 2009) and Heart Failure care (Get with the Guidelines Silver Award 2009). Midland Memorial Hospital is on the Journey to Excellence.

Midland is a great place to live and raise a family. The city is approx 100,000 population. There is an airport which is serviced by American, Continental, United, and Southwest airlines. There are cultural activities and a community college in Midland. A 4 year university is 20 minutes away. If you have small children the school system is very good.

Now with all that said, why I really stay and work at MMH is because of the people I work with. :redbeathe I can't say enough good things about the people I work with except to say I call most of them friends, and they care about each other. :redpinkhe The employees of the hospital have created and support an employee catastrophic fund to help other employees in need. Also, the employees support numerous charities thru walks and fundraisers.
