Don't know anything about the facility but would be interested also....I am originally from that area and was thinking about moving back up that way.
I'll sure let ya know what I find out. I know zip about the field, just investigating the options. I see you already do corrections, and curious how you like it? I've been surfing public/commercial hospitals for 2 years, and already weary of the daily cat-fights, laziness, and clueless whining about nothing. I'm trying to find something a bit more military in nature, or at least better organized.
I've looked at local/regional jail and state facilities, each seems to be miles apart in the way they do things. One has med line, the other has med pass, etc...
I'm figuring it has to do with security and the officer staffing quotas and availability?
Any advice appreciated.

I don't know your location in W.VA or your age, but if you are looking into a more structured work environment and great pension then i highly recommend a BOP job. There are several Federal prisons in KY and W.VA....i am new in corrections myself, but I will try and answer any questions i can...you can also email or IM me.
Good Luck!
Great, thanks! I'm trying to get on at the FMC in Lexington, and I know nothing about corrections except what I've read.
Structure and discipline at work almost seems like a dream these days.
The retirement/pension is indeed attractive.
Right now my only concern is to get a solid job [retirement] in the vicinity of my family.
I'm 40 and will probably never really retire, lol.
Have you considered US Public Health Service?...it is actually a uniformed service...they work at correctional facilities, Indian reservation, health depts......public service.......the requirements are BS in nursing and cut off age of 42....you should check it out...the pay is excellent!....I would have done it but i was too old!!!!!..image that!!..their website is http://www.usphs.gov.....hope this helps....and no,,,I am not a recruiter...just someone who has been there and I like to check out all of my options too.....one of the nurses i work with is PHS and he really likes it....it seems alot of facilites have GS positions available and PHS positions available and both work together....pretty cool....our job is the same but he wears a uniform every day.....hope this helped.

Well... I've tried the Army, USAF, Nat'l Guard, Coast Guard, FBI, CIA, NSA, IHS, USPHS, and even found that there is not even a red cross post near me... LOL.
My thyroid went south about 10 years ago and I have to take synthroid, so I can only get within about 25lbs of requirements and that's it.
I even got talked into a training program and I did PT and ran the treadmill 5 days a week for 3 months, and did a food regimen.. body for life or something like that. I lost 65lbs and leveled off at 208 within the first two. My h/w chart says I need to be 185. All the spittin and poopin in the world won't fix that, LOL.
I guess I'm down to leptoprin to rid myself of that un-sightly belly fat.. haha... not.
You are too funny!.....well,BOP is your best bet!
Not sure about their physical requirements except that you have to pass a PT type test when you go to training(GLYNCO).
