Anyone work at Regions Hospital

I was just hired @ Regions in January and in February they informed us we are now on a hiring freeze. During orientation they mentioned that we will not be looking to add anymore staff once the new building/wings open up this summer/fall. I was told they are going to make due with the staff we have now first before seeing if there's any need to hire. The purpose of this is to avoid lay offs in the future. I feel very fortunate to have literally rolled in right under the radar as I truly LOVE my job and feel very fortunate to be there. The best chance of getting a job at Regions would be if there's an opening to replace someone, but even then it would probably be done internally first. I know there's a nurse on our floor who is transferring to another unit in 2 months and they are replacing her hours by bumping up the FTEs of other nurses on the unit to cover it.

Best of luck to you, though. If I hear of any changes at Regions, I will definitely post here. It really is a fabulous place to work.

Smiletoday - I just noticed on the regions website that they just opened up some new nursing positions on several different units and there's 7 of them currently, I believe?

Might wanna check it out! All different types of hours, units, and shifts. :)
