I have worked at Delta County Memorial and Montrose Memorial. Both have expanded recently and are in need of Nurses. I prefer Montrose Memorial; they have recently expanded their telemetry unit with their new wing. I have worked on this telemetry (tele) unit and it is a great atmosphere.
YOu can check out the newspaper for Grand Junction for Nurse adds. YOu will probably find, especially on Sunday lisitings, and add for both hospitals. If memory serves me correctly, Delta County memorial Hospital (DCMH) has been advertising for their ER Department a lot. I know DCMH would love to hire a new grad in their med surg dept; it is pleasant enough.
Here is Grand Junctions newspaper web address:
YOu will also find local papers for Delta and Montrose. I am not sure if they have an online paper, but try a Google search and check on that if need be.
Olathe, a small farming community, has a lovely progressive LTC facility that is well known for its positive care. We go there every year for The Corn Festival.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.
Montrose has more growth and will have more oppourtunities. Both are great hospitals and are friendly. I think Delta is about maxed out with its growth.
I here more positive feedback from Montrose Nurses that I know work there. I really like the direction they are headed with their tele unit. I think you could negotiate a better salary at Montrose

I am completely new to this forum thing...
But I am relocating to western CO in 4 weeks. I graduate in 3 weeks, and will be taking the NCLEX in CO. Just was wondering if there was anyone that could recommend or give me some advice on the limited number of hospitals I have to choose from.
Thanks!
