Hi, just wanting to know if anyone else out there is waiting to hear from Massasoit?? I happen to know they said it would take a couple more weeks, which would take us to the end of April to receive the letters!
Driving me crazy waiting......Trying to stay busy with the classes I am taking now, but it is so distracting!

Yep, I am waiting on them too! It's hard to wait and wonder if I will be in nursing school this fall or scrounging up a plan B in a couple of weeks! How did you do on the TEAS? Do you feel confident in your essay and previous coursework?
Hi, I feel EXACTLY the same way! I have everything riding on this decision and honestly I really have no Idea one way or the other. I did what I had to on the TEAS, what they required. I was trying to hurry for time and made some poor guestimates in that I am sure I could have done better at, but last year they were very much concerned with how fast you took the test. this year it was not the case, I wish I took my time for those "weird" problems. I am sure you know what I mean if you took it! LOL! I had to retake my science courses since they were too old, and I got all A's. What could potentially hurt me is that I have SOOO many credits it is nearly impossible to achieve that 4.0 cumulative. however, I do have it for the science area. We will see, time will tell...What do you have in mind for your plan B?? I heard quincy has a 2.5 year part time that accepts in the spring (jan.). thanks for responding, nice to feel not so alone....
I am sure that the decisions have already been made, lol. It's just a matter of mailing them out. I saw last years thread on the same topic, and those people got their letters during the last week of April...April is flying by. I am like a crazy test taker...I didn't know they even had a way to tell how long you took on the test...I guess it wouldn't be such a factor since when I went to take it I the computer system was down and we had to take the paper version. I got 100 on it, but my GPA stinks. I went to a good school and did poorly there when getting my Bachelor's Degree, sigh. I did not do ALL of the non-clinical classes but the ones I did do, I got A's in. You have alot of credits, too? Do you by any chance have a previous Bachelor's degree? If I don't get in, I think that my next course of action is to apply to an accelerated BA at either UMASS Boston or Mass General...which is so ridiculously expensive, but that probably makes it easier to get in to...less people applying. I am a new mom, so I would honestly rather go to Massasoit and have less of a commute and potentially less stress. Not to mention less debt! Do you work in the field now? I don't...currently at home with baby and was in the military before that. I'm sort of new to the area so I just recently heard about Quincy college. Do they say it's a good program?
Hi, I have a lot of credits from attending Massasoit previously for an associates degree in science, Respiratory care. I do work in the field, as a respiratory therapist, per-diem not so I could concentrate on school. I have two children, and small world--am also prior military, Army!! I know they have made their decisions, I think they met last Monday (the Nursing committee) to look at the applications that admissions was done with. Someone that is in the program currently told me that. So like you said, those letters just have to make their way to us. I have over 100 credits and it really is difficult to budge the gpa even with A's isn't it?? I didn't even have bad grades before. Throw in a couple of C's from the 90's and you are forever scorned! LOL! I was actually a part of that discussion last year and made a friend online here that got into the program and is in her first year. The letter arrived April 26th! Denial letter. I am surprised with over 130 views of this post that more people don't reply! I am not too sure about Quincy's program, I know it is more expensive than Mass. but it may offer an opportunity rather than waiting until next September. I wish I had my Bachelors, I would definitely try for the accelerated programs if I did. I also applied to undergrad U-mass, but did not get accepted. I do believe, even though the accelerated programs are expensive they are competitive as well. --
time will tell....
Wow, yes it's a small world! I was in the Navy for 5 years. I wish you good luck getting in. I've gotta go back and read your post again...I read it and then forgot to respond for a bit...baby, dogs, life and all those distractions! lol. I rushed home today to look in the mail and my box was completely empty...I feel like a little kid. My mom made it worse (she's a nurse) and she's the one who got me all pumped up to get home and check the mail. hahah.
You're right, there should be a ton of other people responding to this thread :) No one else is worried! Isn't it nuts how competitive it is? The thing that stinks is that there are tons of people who would make great nurses and would do wonderfully in school but it seems like they need to make some programs bigger...or something. Here I am wondering if my stupid D in Greek History at "great big university" is going to make it impossible to get in to any nursing program. That's not the only D I got...I got D's in several other, equally irrelevant, courses! Did you find UMASS Boston to be a little less than friendly? I did. The veteran's rep was great but the nursing program people I talked to were not very nice to me...coulda just been the specific people I encountered but it scared me off of applying this last year. Massasoit seemed so much more approachable.
That is so funny that you mentioned how unfriendly Umass was!! I had the exact same experience. I thought it was just me, good to know it was not! Maybe it was a good thing I was not accepted into the nursing program there. You are right about Massasoit, they are very friendly there. I feel like I should have a Phd from there LOL!! I seem to know a lot of people there from all the time I have spent there! Hopefully they will just look at our science grades and essays. since they are not doing interviews. I wish they would interview like they do for rad tech. My fingers are crossed for us! If it doesn't happen, we can think of a plan B together! I know a lot of people who applied this year, I hope all of us get it, we will all make wonderful nurses!

I called them and I:crying2: Got the same answer , they all say end of April which is Sad since I need to apply for a scholarship if i get in which deadline is the first week of may :( I hope they hurry UP :).
Yikes, that is cutting it close! Do you have it ready to send out? Just assume you got in and do up your application...that is agony!
I agree, assume the answer is yes and have everything ready to go if you could potetially have a scholorship! could you not send it in just in case you got in?? Or does it have to be accompanied by an acceptance letter? If you could send it now, I would. Last year the date was April 26th. I don't know why, but I keep thinking the 29th, I hope it isn't that late...but I have a feeling. Let's see if I am right. We should get a pool going! LOL!
Well the 26 is Monday Hopes up , I need To send an acceptance letter with it , and the deadline is may 6th. so we will see my GPA is 3.48 and my TEAS 92.5 am crossing fingers :):)
