Anyone traveling nursing couples out there?

My husband and I are both working on our nursing degrees. He is going for his LPN and I am working on an RN. I was wondering how hard it is to find jobs in the same locations for the same time period. Do you know of any couples who do this or are you one? Is it possible to find work at the same time in the same cities? Thanks!

:) I am currently working with a married couple who have been traveling for 2 years and they only take assignments where they can both work the same schedules (or close to the same schedules). They are both ICU nurses and have not had a problem with it. They have been to New York city, Winter Haven ( by Orlando ), LA, San Fran, just to name a few. Also the nice thing is if you and your husband travel together, since the company would only have to provide 1 place for the 2 of you, make sure you get more in your hourly rate or 1 of you get housing substity since you are saving the company money by staying together. One thing to remember is this business, You must always look out for your own interests. Even the nicest company will walk all over you if you let them. Use this website as a tool to learn how to negate a contract and what you are entitled to. They work for RN Network since they started travel nursing and have been very happy with them. I think they staff LPN's too, but you may want to call and check. I think MSN does too. There is a website that has a lot of travel company profiles on it, http://www.healthcaretraveler.com. You can sign up for the free subscription for the magazine and it has lots of good articles in it.

Be aware that there are much fewer assignments for LPNs in travel assignments and only with a few companies. If you really want to travel, he would be much further ahead by getting his RN. So many more jobs are available........

We have discussed this and I think he is going for his RN as well. Thanks for the advice.
