I am a teacher by profession with 13 years experience and I love teaching passionately. I also think I'd love being a nurse. I am going through a marrital separation and I am worried about supporting my kids with my teacher's salary. I feel like nursing would be more reliable and more practical from the monetary end. I just don't know if it's the right thing or if it's something I'll equally love. Anyone in my shoes or have advice having any experience in the matter??? Thanks!

thankyou for your message. only a fellow teacher could understand why switching careers is an option. I've been teaching for four years, and yes! my work always comes home with me. I am always trying to find activities to differentiate my instruction, I am always revising or writing a lesson plan and coming up with assessments, etc. etc. With constant budget cuts, I am always spending my own money (what little i have) to pay for things. Teachers wear so many hats, that they really have more than one job all the time, so to speak. I am willing to make the sacrifice now, in order to see if nursing is an option. I understand the training is rigorous and time consuming, but i feel like i just have to try. If im successful, I will have so many career options available to me. Thank you for helping me to renew my outlook and not give up on something that may be right for me.
