Hi guys,

Thanks so much for reading this. I got my CGFNS Credential Evaluation Report CES this morning and I need help understanding it.

It lists my academic record,

High School as having the high school diploma with a GPA of B

It recognises my degree in Behavioural Psychology as an equivalent Bachelors degree in the US.

Now my nursing it lists my nursing as Nursing 3 years of undergraduate study then goes on to list every course I did including biology classes, medical nursing, surgical nursing, child and maternal and mental health. Next to every subject it is listed as a Pass and hoew many us semester credits it equals. At the end it says......

Level of study undergraduate.......US semester credits 238.5....GPA 2.98

Thats it end of report, I sont understand does this mean I dont need to make up any hours for nursing in the usa???? I thought the point of the report was it listed specifically what you were missing for the usa so if nothing is there does that mean nothing is missing?????

Please anyone let me know before I start getting excited that I dont have hours to make up!!!!!!

I want to move asap as my family is in usa and my sister is having her 1st baby in Feb. I will not sit for nclex till next may as I want time to review first and also have always wanted to learn spanish so will do classes in that.

As for jobs have been offered 2 jobs in 2 seperate hospitals. My sisters nursing director has interviewed me on the phone and said there are jobs in med surg and telemetry for me when I get there, I have spoken to the hospitals lawyer and the hospital regularly sponsers international nurses.

Also St Frances in New Jersey has also interviewed me for a position in a unit for Psychiatric patients needing surgical care and operations so they want my psychiatric experience and offer a 9 month preceptorship programme for the surgical teaching as I have no experience. The were very interested and also told me to contact them as soon as I was ready for nclex.

See I dont see the point in sitting here in uk learning for nclex and waiting for my visa when I can do exactly the same thing but be in the usa already on a student visa with my sister helping with the baby, and if I had nursing hours to make up I cant find anywhere within 6 hours of me to do them here in uk but have already spoken to the Burlington college nursing dean in NJ and they are happy to let me sit in classes and make up hours there. Money is no issue for us we have sold our house and been left money by a family member and have my sister to live with so need to worry about bills, rent etc will just give money to my sister for our keep.

Our NHS employers here in the uk are keeping our jobs open for us for 12 months we are taking unpaid leave so even if usa doesnt pan out we have jobs to come back to.

See even if retrogression seriously affects us and I am stuck doing random college classes in the usa for 2 years to keep my student visa until I can work we can afford it and I will really enjoy the classes there are many I would love to do in Burlington.

Im not sure why people think it is a bad idea, I would understand it if we had no money or place to live but we do.
