I have been a lurker on here for a while. I am trying to decide if I am gonna go with EC. I know that I can do the exams but it's the CPNE that I'm not so sure about. I have been an LPN for 10 years and will be attending my local CC this fall to take some of the pre-reqs that I have left. I don't plan on enrolling to EC until after I take Health Safety. I keep telling myself "I can do it" but I get so nervous when it comes to thinking about the clinical part. I know this will be my shortest route to obtaining my RN. Can someone calm my fears so that I can make the right decision.
Is there anyone from Mississippi that is going through EC. I am in the southern part of Mississippi.

I'm not from Mississippi, but I think the fear you have in you is typical of most of us, and it is what motivates us to study for the CPNE. Obviously it can be done successfully--you certainly have the experience to help you along--but you will have to continue to tell yourself you can do it. I am trying to do that, but it's hard...I second guess my old and relatively short nursing experience, so you're kicking my butt.
If you can control your nerves AND you can know your critical elements (it's not high-tech nursing, just basic stuff), you will have it down. That and remember to check the armband and wash your hands like you have a short-term memory problem.
