Anyone knows about "substantive equivalency competency assessment"

Hello,ALL,

I'm a foreign nurse... I just got the RN registration assessment result. It stated that I have to complete a substantially equivalant competence(SEC) foucused assessment in Obstetrics first. Does anyone know about that? How is the assessment? Anybody have gone through that? Pls give me some advice...

Hi there,

Luckly I just got thru her phone. I was told that only assess on obstetric, half day written test (short answer only write in a few words), half day practical assessment....That will be much more easier... after assessment, you may be required to have some educational program or workshop to improve the special knowledge on that area which is weak.....CARNA will instruct what will be your next step....

Are you also being assessed on pediatrics or just Obstetrics. What did she say about the practical assesment??? Did you book your assessment in for October?
