Hi,

Does anyone know anybody who went to TECO? I got accepted there for august but I dont know anyone who went there or is going, and have NO IDEA what to expect. I am soooo nervous and I want to try and be as prepared as possible.

Thank You

Thank you. :) I'll let y'all know what comes of it.

HI I am planning to go to Teco Lpn in August . The part time starts in Oct and will be thurs and fridays 7 to 2Pm and clinics on Sats is what I was told. the phone number is 407-344-5080 then ask for nursing dept good luck

Specializes in hospice, pediatrics, substance abuse.

I am currently attending TECO now, graduate in July. I also live in Lake County, (Clermont) so I make that drive every day. Yes it is worth it. TECO is a good school with great instructors and a good reputation. That is not to say that we haven't had our "moments" (people tend to get on each others nerves after being around each other 5 days a week). But like Chanzes MiMi, I too would do it again.

DO you have to pay the $3300 tuition fee at TECO for the LPN program all at once ?

No you don't. Its by school schedule [quarter?] they will give you a payment fee schedule, so you will know from the start whats due when.

Specializes in CCRN, TNCC SRNA.

That really is a good school. I was going to teach there but my ex hubby got a job transfer. The teachers are great, the classes are small, and they make sure you know your stuff before moving on. I did my LPN in MN many moons ago, but I wish I had gone there ( TECO)

Best of luck to you. It will be hard work, but you will enjoy it

Hello Destinyx13. I had my LPN interview last Thursday and it went great (I think). Well, I was wondering if you could give me more info about the program. Maybe like the clinical hours? How many days a week (clinicals)? and any other info u think is imp. thnks

What are the requirements to get into teco? What type of entrance test is needed? Also, don't they offer distance learning?

i graduated with the class after destinyx13.

clinicals are 6:30a-3:30p thurs & fridays after you complete a couple months of the full-time program. towards the end of the program, you may have clinicals 3x a wk. do not work fulltime while in the program. everyone in my class who worked ft failed out. the program is very intense. about 3 months into the program, its easier to breath.

heres a link for the packet;

lpn / nursing - teco

*entry exam - level "a" tabe with a 12.0 in reading, math & language. tabe cost is $25

*teas exam - 80% reading, 60% math & 65% english. the science portion must also be completed. teas cost is $50

*entrance essay will be given to you when you finish taking the teas exam.

there is no distance learning offered, and you must not miss class at all the first couple months. there is an exam practically everyday.

I was referring to the teco in st. pete/tampa area. Sorry.. If anyone has info on that I'd appreciate it..

i realize this post is really old, but most people who decide to go to school to further their education do not have the luxury of quitting their jobs. i think it is also unfair to assume that everyone who works ft will fail out of any type of educational program. i think most people know their own personal capabilities/limits.

this was personal observation in my own class. every student who worked full time, failed out of this program while i was there. the instructors stated this was consistent with each class, and they recommend students who have to work full time, attend the part time 18 mo program. very few students in my class even worked part time. i had the luxury of being able to work twelve hr shifts on weekends, and even that was difficult. in the beginning there are exams every day. and a couple hrs of homework every evening plus studying for the next days exam. class is 5 days a wk, 7 hrs a day. and you cannot miss in the first couple months. no excuses. no make up exams.

call teco nursing dept and ask yourself :)

less than half that started my class, graduated 11 months later.
