I live in Flagstaff, AZ. It seems like there are several options for nursing school. I am in an AAS degree RN program at Coconino Community College. NAU, here in Flag, has a BSN program. I also have taken several classes online through Rio Salado College in Phoenix. Yavapai College in Prescott has a great reputation as a nursing school. Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, AZ has a AAS RN program, as does Northland Pioneer College in Winslow. I'm sure there are many others, not to mention the nursing schools at the three universities. What part of Arizona are you moving to?

Specializes in ICU, Oncology.

Banner Health Care offers a fellowship program through the Maricopa Community Colleges (Phoenix area). It is an accelerated (16-month) ADN program. Banner will pay for a student's tuition/books/fees if the student, in return, will work for them for three years after graduation. There are limited spaces open, and potential candidates must interview to get into the program. Many healthcare facilities in the Phoenix area also offer loan repayments in return for working for them (x number of dollars for x number of years of service). See the link below. http://bannerhealth.com/Careers/Education/Education+Assistance.htm

Specializes in med/surg, telemetry, IV therapy, mgmt.

here is the link to the arizona board of nursing http://www.azbn.gov/ you can register online to receive their newsletter.

here is a list of all the nursing schools approved by the arizona board of nursing. it lists in order: schools of practical nursing, aa nursing programs, one rn diploma program, bsn nursing programs, out of state programs approved for clinical in arizona, and nurse practitioner programs. listings include the addresses of the schools and a contact person in the nursing department and their phone number.

you should check with each individual nursing college about nursing loans, grants and scholarships that are available. doing a search of "arizona scholarships for nursing students" returned a lot of hits. here are the first three:

http://www.nursing.arizona.edu/conscholarships.htm

http://www.aznurse.org/default.asp?pageid=10000650 - arizona nurses foundation scholarship information

http://www.azcaringcareers.com/loc.cfm?page=sis_scholinfo - arizona scholarships for economically disadvantaged and minority students who are pursuing a career in nursing

i would encourage you to do you own search and explore the remainder of the links. i would also do similar searches for grants and loans. good luck!
