Anyone know of an IEN's who did their assessment?

Published

Hi there

I and many others who may read the thread that maybe in the same position as me being an International Educated Nurse, know of any IEN's who got through their Substantiave Equivalency Competency to be offered by the Registering body their Temporary Practice Permit.

Would like to know how they did and what was involved?

Thank you;)

hmm.. do you mean getting an interim permit from crnbc while awaiting to take an exam?

I guess.

I know its an assessment that the Regulatory Bodies require prior to giving you a Temporary Practice Permit. Assessing your skills and any gaps in your training ie Obstetrics or Pediatrics?

well... i had mine assessed. they required me to pass my IELTS exam. after I did that, i submitted my transcript, proof of me being an RN back home and a whole bunch of other stuff.. after 2 weeks, they gave me the requirements regarding writing the CRNE with the interim RN form. I guess they found my education to be enough, as they didnt require me to undergo a refresher course.

Hope my answer helped. :balloons:

they assessed mine last june... the assessment wasn't difficult at all, only took like 3 weeks. And it could've been shorter if my school sent the transcript as soon as possible :angryfire

I guess it depends on your school's curriculum. Our school patterned it after the curriculum in the states, and Canada found it to be enough i guess. I can say this because they didn't require me to take any refresher course...so there :monkeydance:

yes, you should show your employer the pink form (form 17 i think?) which is the proof of your interim permit.

if you dont mind me asking, did you use an agency to get employed while you are in the philippines?which employer would you work for?thanks
