i was thinking about going to cnr for spring 2010. Can anyone tell me about their program and the requirements? Pleaaaaaseeeee : )
Hi. I live in Throggs Neck in the Bronx. I am like 15 to 20 mins driving distance from CNR. CNR was my priority because I am interested in their individualized 2nd degree (flexibility). Yes, you do need Nutrition and Developmental Psychology, so definitely keep those 2 classes. Good Luck and maybe I will see you in campus. :)
Hi Nrod1331,
You're welcome, I'm glad I was able to help. But to answer your question clinical has to be taken in parallel with the theory class. For foundations the 1st seven weeks you will be doing clinicals at the campus in their health center. For the remainder seven weeks you will choose a nursing home to start clinicals but it is not bad at all, there are about 7-8 people in each group. And make sure you have your health forms and cpr card up to date prior to beginning your semester or they will not let you sign up for clinicals. Also be sure to hand in your clinical selection form for foundations early so you can get your choice. Now for health assessment there is a theory class and a "lab" class where you would practice your health assessment skills and this is on campus, so you do not have to travel for this. I hope this answers your question.

Aye125RN, thank you so much. This information is very valuable to me. I got my CPR card and I have to go to Doc for the health forms. I am sending my deposit today. After they receive my deposit do you know what happens next? Will CNR contact me and maybe I can meet with a counselor? That would be great!
Oh you're welcome. The school supplies the students with the health forms. They are located on the website for printout or you can ask health services to mail them or you pick them up. Congrats on sending off your deposit. I think after you send the deposit, you will receive a welcome letter and I think the catalogue explaining the classes. Yes you can absolutely go to the campus and meet with your advisor. You can always ask them who will be your advisor and then your advisor can help you set your classes up with you and everything. I wish you soooo much luck with this program. If you have any other concerns you can contact me anytime.

THANKS! Aye124RN. I will keep you posted!
Hi, have you registered for classes yet? if so which ones? I noticed you were most likely going to focus on taking 2 classes. I feel so lost, I don't know where to start. I have to send in my financial stuff. I don't have much aid at all. Do you have to take any personal loans? I do, and I'm not sure where I should look (other than directly from banks).
Hi, I have not registered yet. I sent in my deposit and I am supposed to be getting a package with more information. I also spoke to CNR yesterday and they just told me to wait for the package and the process will be explained to me in that package. I will definitely need some loans. I am not sure what types of loans, but I do plan to speak to someone in Finacial Aid.
I am not sure which classes I will be taking, but for the first semester I will take just 2 unless I am instructed otherwise.
Did you send your deposit?
Yeah, I sent in my deposit last week. I just received my financial package like 2 days ago, I need to call them up and clarify some things and see if they increase my loans basically. I'm a 2nd degree student as well so I barely have any aid. I'm just confused about the whole process, I dunno what I should be doing or who to talk to. I just want to know what my class schedule will be like because I'll need to search for a new job as my full-time job will clearly not accommodate.

What area will you be coming from? if you don't mind my asking. I also got in the school. I should be more happy about it, but i was so set on going to NYU and didn't get in. I should be looking on the bright side to know that in a way going to CNR will help me to not be in debt for the rest of my life, but i'm just feeling pretty bummed right now. I live in NYC and would be commuting to the school; which will probably take me at least 1 hour to get there, I don't drive, (have a liscense but no car), so i'll probably be dishing out $126 a month on the metro-north, not mention metrocard money.
Do you guys know if they require nutrition and developmental psych as pre-requisites. because of NYU i had to enroll in those classes which i'm taking right now, it's already to late to get a refund for those classes, so i'm wondering if i should suck it up and stick with those classes (in case CNR requires them).
