ANYONE HELP!! Want To MOVE TO FLORIDA BUT WANT TO MAKE CLOSE TO NEW YORK MONEY

Published

Can Anyone help me I would like to buy a home in Florida in the near future but salary there is not enough. SO I am investigating ways I could make the move and make close to what I earn now in N>Y> which is about $60,000 annually. I have heard from a couple of aquaintences that friends of theirs have moved down to florida with the same salary by transferring down with the same company . I have also heard of travel nursing but only within the area that you live in which travel nursing pays more than the hospitals and other health facilities. These are all hearsay so I am trying to start to really reasearch on my own.

PLEASE HELP ANY info would be helpful or suggestions

I doubt that what your friends told you about making the same salary in FL as they did in NY is entirely true. Florida pay has never been high, but you can make more if you do agency instead of working staff. However, in most cases its like comparing six to a half dozen because staff positions come with benefits and most agency work doesn't (unless YOU pay for it). The way some nurses do it is that they take a full-time staff position and then either work in-house registry or pick up extra shifts at another hospital through an agency. The extra hours can definitely get you more than $60k but it won't be the same because you'll obviously have less time off available to do other stuff.
