Anyone here got their LVN CA license after studying in the Philippines?

Published

Hi I would like to ask anyone who knows of or is personally one of those who succeeded in the CA reciprocity method after maybe taking the nclex in WV or applying directly to the CA board. I would like to know if this is possible even after studying in the Philippines since I believe that CA is strict with regard to their own accredited schools.

Hi I would like to ask anyone who knows of or is personally one of those who succeeded in the CA reciprocity method after maybe taking the nclex in WV or applying directly to the CA board. I would contact the CA BVNPT to find out the answer to your question. As far as I know your schooling must be accredited in your home country. So if it's accredited in your home country then CA might grant endorsement from WV, but they would still need to evaluate your transcripts. Good Luck

I see, I thought CA only recognizes their own schools and even if you have a WV license then they will not grant you license for lvn. There is a local board known as TESDA in the Philippines which accredits LVN schools so there is accreditation BUT no work locally only if you have a green card or Citizen. Anyway so if one studies in a TESDA accredited school and passed WV lpn then CA will grant you the license?

You need to contact California regarding if your school is TESDA accredited. If there's no local work then I'm not sure how California would handle that. There's no work visa for LVN's if that's what you mean. But when you're a foreign graduate California will require transcripts even if you have a WV license.
