Hi I was wondering what are the odds of someone getting in this school? What are they looking for and what is the minimum GPA of anyone who got accepted.

Hello. I will be applying for the Fall 2005 class for UT Houston. I have talked a little with them and I found out the cut-off GPA was a 3.2 this year, for the 2003 class it was a 3.4. They also look at science GPA, interview and writing sample. I'm not sure how they determine if you get an interview or not. Hope this helps a little.

WOW... the cut off for TWU is 3.68 and I thought that they only accepted people who's gpa was 4.0 and with an extremely impressive background. A friend of mine applied there she said that they only have about 100 slots and its very competitive to get in to.
Well, at TWU, they go strictly by GPA, and that's it. The cut-off GPA doesn't mean that you'll get in with a 3.5. The look at other factors. A high GPA might get you an interview but it may not get you in. I knew someone who had like a 3.8, went in for the interview and writing sample and didn't get in. So, I'm not sure what the chances are!

i'm applying to UTHSC [well, i already did] it's my top choice and i reeeally hope i get in. i have a 3.9, but have no volunteer exp or anything so i'm sorta worried about that. the new nursing building is beautiful, except there is NO parking. you have to use MD Anderson's garage or another one around there and that gets quite expensive!
They have 130 - 140 slots per semester and last year 1300 people applied. eek.
Are you applying to TWU? You have the GPA to get in there and they are they best nursing school in Houston from what I hear.

yup, i did, and i got my acceptance letter for spring 05 today, but i really want to go to UTHSC. eek, i'm not sure what to do!!
Wow, congrats! I would go the TWU route myself, you get to start earlier for one since UT only has fall admission. I would apply there myself but you need like a 3.7 or higher and I'm at a 3.55. Good luck with whatever you choose!
