okay i know it has been asked over and over. but i haven't heard from sharp and i was wondering if anyone has gotten any response from them? i was told there has been an email that's been sent out to those who applied for L&D, and that it has been canceled. but aside from that i haven't heard anything.

i applied for their sept 09 program but with no luck :( they say their 2010 program also has about 1600 applicants!! what in.. ****! i don't know anyone internally, so good bye to networking there. but can anyone just confirm anything if they have had calls for an interview or perhaps a letter of rejection?:uhoh3:

I would also like to hear about an acceptance email from them since we've only heard about the rejection ones.

I haven't heard anything and I haven't heard of anyone else who's heard anything.

Under "My History"... it's blank. Is everyone else's blank, too? I know I applied, so I'm hoping Sharp just blocked our ability to see our statuses.

Like after the application process had closed mine was blank as well. It freaked me out so I called and HR told me not to worry they had my application and it had been forwarded to the recruiters. This waiting process has been long.

I know a few people who have had phone interviews and have scheduled in-person interviews so far, but each unit handles their process differently, so it will all depend on what unit you have applied for.

for the program correct? so i guess sharp has been already making the calls :( from experience with the September 09 program, they didn't make calls altogether. and you are right, they do start with certain units first. mind if we ask which units were they? i applied for med-surg and telemetry...

I applied for med-surg and telemetry as well. There is another thread in the Graduate Nurses section a person said she has an interview with Grossmont she applied for med-surg and telemetry. I wish they could tell us over the phone if our app was still in the pile or not. UGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I haven't heard anything yet. I applied to Memorial and Grossmont PCU. It's frustrating not to know, especially with so few options. As it is closer and closer to the deadline that makes me feel like I'm not getting an interview. Hopefully, they are just slow. My friend got emailed for an interview at Memorial Oncology.

boogeysmom, do you know what units are currently conducting interviews?

I'm thanking my lucky stars everyday, but yes -- I got a call for an interview on Wednesday this past week (for the SharpGrossmont ER New Grad position. The HR person who called me said that they were going to continue to call people for interviews and would send me a finalized email confirmation sometime next week (once they called everyone). I think each department and facility (ie: Grossmont, Memorial, Mary Birch) are all doing their own timeframe for acceptance/rejection -- so just because you have not heard anything yet, I wouldn't loose all hope for this round.

NewbieRN... Did you have a practicum in the ED there? I'm just trying to figure out the kind of stuff they were looking for...

I didn't have a clinical there. I do work as a tech in another ED (not sharp) though, so maybe that experience was helpful (per diem since Aug 09). I didn't do my final preceptorship in ED either, I did it in a Step Down ICU. Some of my clinical rotations (like Neuro) were done in another hospitals ER, so I've had some time as an RN student in the ED, just not at Sharp. They just have an enourmous advantage over all the students. So many applicants -- I don't know how they manage to narrow it down. I heard from a Medic at work the other day that Sharp had 500 applicants for the ED spot and they are taking 12. I don't know the reliablity of his numbers (since everyone seems to have different hear say coming at them). But that's all I've heard so far....
