I am an RN with a BSN from Boston College and I am applying to UMass Boston for Family NP program. I would love to go back to BC for grad school but just can't afford it. I was wondering if any nurses out there have or are attending the program at UMass Boston and how they like/d it. Is the admissions process competitive? Did you feel the classes/clinicals were adequately challenging and fulfilling?
Any info/advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks!!

Hi! I know you posted this about a year ago, but I was wondering the same thing you asked about UMass Boston and how competitive the admissions process is. Did you find out? Do you know if they accept new grads?

Hi,
Also looking for similar info...I have been accepted for the spring term at both UMass Boston and BC, as well as Simmons and MGHIHP...BC seems to have the better reputation nationally but not sure I want to spend all that money. My job offers tuition assistance but at public schools only, not private so UMass would be the ideal choice financially...but I'm stuck and not sure which route to go...I'm also new to the area so any input would really appreciated!

Greetings. I know you posted this over a year+ ago. Did you attend UMass Boston's NP program? What was your experience like? Have you graduated? Please advise. I am planning on enrolling in UMass very soon.
Hi, I am currently enrolled in the part-time FNP program at UMass. This is my 3rd semester so I guess I'm about half way there. I like the program so far, about half of my classes have been on campus and half online...I can't speak for clinicals as I haven't started them yet. If you have any specific questions, let me know

I am looking to enroll in the post masters certificate program that is all online. So regarding the online classes only: Are there videotaped presentations that you could view at any time?; Are their PowerPoint slides with voiceovers?; Are there interactive modules/simulations? Are students required to do group projects? Is there a required discussion forum? Is the discussion forum "live" where attendance is required? any other "bells and whistles"? Are the classes exceptionally time consuming? Are the online instructors knowledgable, accessible, responsive? With the online class were you given the entire class upfront so you could work through the curriculum at your own pace? Or does the online class require weekly "attendance" and each week the instructor uploads that week's assignment? I realize there are several questions here. Your help is most appreciated!!!! Peace always.
