Hi everyone! I have been waitlisted by Regis for Fall 2011 and I desperately want to go to school in-state for my traditional BSN program. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has experienced the same thing or knows of someone who has, that got in last minute? I need words of encouragement right now! I have gotten accepted to UNMC Omaha and am very fortunate to have a school to go to, but I really don't want to move Please any and all similar atories will be more than helpful!!!

I was waitlisted for the CHOICE program and never got in, but they took 4 alternates. I got accepted on the second application. If you do a search on here for Regis & alternates, there are lots of stories about people's experience with being an alternate. Are you an alternate in the traditional program?
I'm from Omaha and my cousin got her BSN from UNMC (my uncle also got his MD there) and it is a great school. I'm not sure how it all washes out with tuition (Regis being expensive and having to pay out of state tuition at UNMC), but Omaha has a lower cost of living and maybe the job market is better there for new grads. Something to consider, but I know moving sucks!

Regis, like UCD, usually takes a lot of alternates, so have heart. This is due to lots of CO students applying to tons of programs at the same time. Have heart! I know someone who got into Regis off the waitlist the day before orientation!
Thank you both for your responses!!! I am currently in Omaha visiting my sister and her husband. Getting a good feel for the neighborhood and I think I'll like it if I do have to move. However, I still don't want to Thank you "SummitAP" you made me feel better and I hope it works out!
"IrishMama" I am going for the traditional program. I am hoping this gives me a better shot at getting in from the Alternate List.
Thank you AGAIN!
