Anyone Ever Work in a Stand Alone Heart/Cardiac Hospital?

What was your experience? Are cases mostly elective, transfers from other hospitals, or how do the patients come to be at such a facility? What's the acuity like? Do you ever feel like you have a lack of resources if there is an issue other than cardiac? I've seen CVICU positions posted in Arizona at stand alone heart hospitals and was curious what these positions are like compared to a CVICU at a regular hospital.

I've heard it's pretty rewarding, hard to get into bc people like it typically. Though some find their other critical thinking skills about neuro, medical, trauma, etc anything that's not cardiac surgery, dull a bit. like fewer opportunities to start IVs. but good thing I heard was typically they're richer, more resourced, and acuity relatively low since they mostly get elective cases
