Anyone Ever Work at a Freestanding ER?

I’m an ER nurse of 17 years, and have recently been offered a job at a free standing ER. What are the pro’s and cons of working in one? I applied only because it literally across the street from where I live. I’ve recently relocated from Illinois to Texas.

Any thoughts?

I did, as an ER tech/paramedic and then as an RN. We had some resource limitations (no RT, no pharmacy people), so we had to know how to fill those needs, but it created a strong team with excellent skills. We were the first freestanding ED in Virginia to be stroke certified. I loved it there!
