Hey guys.
So I found out today I'll be stationed at Travis starting in June. I used to live in Southern Cali and didn't really like it b/c of the stuck up people and how everything is based on what you look like and how much money you make. Is northen Cali any different? Are there "quiet" places to live near there? Any places you recommend to live? And how is the hospital?
Thanks!

I myself am headed out there in September. I am getting my commission through AECP (Airman Education Commissioning Program) as I already have 11 years active duty. I head out to COT in August, then Travis afterwards. I have never been there before, and I am sure that I have many of the same questions as you do. Hopefully we'll both get some answers through the great people on here!

You will like it. I lived at Beale AFB down the road. Well ok an hour or so north. your location is much better and let me tell you your BX and Commisary are tons better than Beale's. We shopped at Travis when it was practical.
And hey did you know that space-a travel goes from Travis to Hickam?? Yep I think it goes several times a week. So pack your flowered shirts and make ressies at the Hale Koa and enjoy on your down time!

I went there on a tour over the summer......loved it! I would have liked to have seen more of the surrounding area, but we had an itinerary to follow as we were there only for three days!
This is also my second choice of my three possible duty stations...Eglin is my first with Lackland being the third....
