Anyone else have to submit an appeal for student loans?

I guess i've maxed out my credits, I had no idea that was even possible. I'm sort of a little irritated that my school pushed for me to get my A.A while I did my prereqs for nursing school because if I wouldn't have done that I wouldn't have had this problem! Anyone else on the same boat?

I have a B.A. and was accepted to an ADN program at a local community college. They also refused to qualify me for loans unless I filed an appeal. It sounded like it was possible for them to give me the money if I had one of the advisors in the nursing program back me up and I presented a plan showing that I wouldn't be there longer than 2 years. Luckily, I was accepted to another program that didn't have me jump through hoops to get loans. So I'm going there instead.

Go ahead and appeal with your school's financial aid office. Find out the exact process and if you need any supporting documents that can help your case (like from the nursing dept). See if they also offer tuition fee waivers that are not dependent on your student status (might be state funded). Learn about scholarship opportunities at your school and your city. Talk to the nursing department to find out if they offer loans or scholarships to nursing students.
