Anyone a CNA (while working on pre-req's)?

Published

I'm starting the CNA course on Monday so that I can work as a CNA while getting my pre-req's done. I was just wondering if anyone else here has done that. How do you like working as a CNA? I'm hoping to work in a hospital. There are 10 hosiptals in my city, so quite a few jobs are available. The nursing college that I'm going to for my CNA is associated with the hospital where I delivered all six of my kids. The woman in admittions told me that they hire almost exclusively from the graduates of the school. That what I'm hoping for! That same hospital system is currently building a new women's hospital (it will open in 2010) just a mile from my house. I would LOVE to work there and I'm hoping that if I can get a job within the system now it will help my chances. :nurse:

I am a CNA taking pre- reqs for nursing school. I took the CNA class through a nursing home. It was a 3 week class. It was easy. I currently work in a nursing home have been there for almost 2 years. I love my job as a CNA. My residents are the best. CNA work is very helpful if you are going to nursing school. It is great to be able to get some of the things like taking vitals and things like that out of the way. So good luck.:coollook:

I am working as a CNA in a hospital on the med surg unit. The other nurses are so willing to help out and allow for me to assist and watch when they perform assessments, and procedures. I get to experience first hand what I will be dealing with
