Anyone in clinical at Penn Valley CC KCMO?

Specializes in LDRP.

Just wanting to try to figure out the first semester clinical schedule in case I get in (the classes are Fundamentals of Nursing and Essential Nursing Concepts). I need lots of notice so I can get my kids situated in school etc. I've heard two different things so I am confused. Are clinicals one day a week all semester, or are they every day for five weeks of the semeter?? Please, if anyone knows, I would really appreciate some feedback. The nursing division just doesnt return calls............

HI, I am from KC, but didn't go to Penn Valley. I went somewhere else. However it does not seem like the students I saw had clinicals everyday, at any point. I could be very wrong. If I were you, I would continuously call the dept and try to get in touch with someone. This is a good start though! Good-Luck!

PS: Have you looked at there website for any info? I know they have a website.

Hi! Thanks for writing back. Nope there isnt anything on the website, and the nursing dept has callers leave a message, but then they never return calls! Apparently they are always busy.

Anyway, thanks again. I'll keep searching for info.

Dear Amy: This is my first time at one of these "chat rooms" or whatever you want to call it, so I hope you get this. I am attending Penn valley, but I am in the evening/weekend program. Our clinical rotations are done on weekends and so are different than the day student clinicals. Your original query was posted several weeks ago and so I imagine that you have already gotten an answer to your question, but if you haven't, or if you have any other questions, I am sure that I can get straight answers from the evening instructors. They really take an interest in both the students and the school. I'll check this post in a couple of days to see if you have any questions. In the meantime, I am pretty certain that you can't have clinicals more than about 50% or 60% of the time. Classroom lectures take a great deal of time, and you will lecture first, then put the lectured material into practice. Good Luck, and may God Bless You!.........................Kieran
