I'm leaning towards UTA. However, I've looked at utmb, Texas state and Angelo state.

But I want to start soon so I may apply for spring - UTA is the only school offering in the spring.

How's TAM going? I haven't really done much research there?

Well, the deadline for those semesters must have ended. The only one available is for fall 2016 and the app opens in October and closes in January.

And question! Do you know how many commutes are required to make to the campus if you're not from the area?

I'm in Austin, and though I'm interested very much in utmb, I'm also choosing schools based on convenience.

And is it very competitive?

I applied to the TAMU FNP program for Spring 2016 but did not get in. They said I wasn't competetive with other applicants. 3.67 GPA. 18 months hospital experience. Excellent recommendations and volunteer experience. I don't know what the problem was. Looking into applying for Fall 2016 at TX State.

Wow, you sound like a pretty good candidate to me.

Unfortunately my GPA is not so great. Hopefully my references, awards, essay and experience in the OR, med surg and critical care will make up for it. I applied for UTA Spring 16.

Yeah UTMB looks awesome! It's just they are so far south and I've heard you have to meet up so many times per semester. They were actually my first choice.

Texas State seems ok too. They're just really new and not yet accredited - but would be the most convenient for me. And it's only 21 months. I'd love to get done asap, but want to be prepared as well. They're curriculum is okay...lots of research.

I've looked at San Antonio as well. I don't believe it's online.

Have you looked at Corpus Christi or Texas Tech? There's so many online.
