Anyone attending Central Texas Community College?

I am starting to take my pre-req's for the nursing program. Right now I am in the Intro to Nursing and wanted to see if any other students are on here?

where is central texas community college located?

It's in Central Texas. Between Killeen and Copperas Cove

Hi im not enrolled yet but maybe you can tell me a couple of things real quick. I have 3 years of pre-reqs for nursing but had to quit UTSA, I just finished my CNA and was told that there was a waiting list to get in to LPN at CTC and that maybe I would be moved to the top of the list, but that just sounds weird to me? Did you get right in for LPN or can you help, I am really interested in the school im coming from austin, but not if there is a 3 year waiting list.

I am not going for the LPN program, I am trying to do the RN program, however I was talking to a friend and she does not remember hearing aout a long wait for the LPN program, she said maybe a semester but I would totally check it out. I do not think the waiting list should be that long! 3 years is a freaking LONG!

Well thank you I thought it sounded a little fishy im like how is there a waiting list to get in to LVN but they are in such demand??!! Well I tried to call but of course its spring break and they didnt answer but I left a message so hopefully *keeping fingers crossed* ill get right in, I already have 3yrs of college for nursing so it should speed me up faster (I hope)!

Go for your ADN!!! Make sure you have your NET and you were a first-time go! (sorry for the Army talk...veteran here:) If you have taken your NET, have at least a B average in A+P and other lab sciences and have completed your pre-req's then you should be good. I had heard that so far this semester there were only 36 eligible, but the main area was the first time NET pass! Good luck and welcome to Central Texas!!!

I am so happy there are people from CTC here. I am going into the RNSG 1209 this summer, few months behind you. I need to finish some more classes, biology . It's changed for some reason, since last semester. So how long is the waiting, do you know yet? Did you finish pre-req, then took Net test, and then apply?

I'm taking RNSG 1209, RNSG 1301 (Pharmacology--online), A+P I, and PSYC 2314 (Dev. Psyc) this semester. I had applied last year in the fall while attending another school out of state. The nursing department secretaries are very helpful in trying to get your packet ready to be reviewed.

If I were you, I would apply now, just to have everything ready and go from there. They will hold your application as long as you check in with them and update personal info accordingly. I took the NET as soon as I could, but only after a couple practice tests. It was not bad at all, but make sure you pass it the first time. I had my interview last month, after the department received my NET results and notified me, with hopes to get into the program this fall. I have all but A+P II and Microbiology done, but will start taking courses under Tarleton-Central Texas's BSN program, which I think is a great deal, especially if you have all CTC's core classes complete and want to remain on full-time status and don't get in the semester you want.

As for the waiting list, I've been checking in on the numbers once in a while, and at last count there were twice as many people applying as seats. So, we'll see...best of luck to you and let me know if you have any more questions while we both dive into this "journey."

Hey, thank you for reply. I guess my start is a little slow. I am having problems in math and have to take a dev math as a refresher for myself. Guess icant take bio before then, even after my counselor said i should. Iam confused, everyone keeps telling me different. I will keep on trotting though, and i might see you around , maybe in RSNG this semester

I had to take Dev math before I took college algebra. And my college algebra was "slow" algebra in which I had to take the class everyday. Let me tell you...it was worth it. All that math was fresh in my head for the NET. And I needed it. I actually like math now.

yeah, i am realizing i have to do that as well. Hey, compared to the asset test, how much harder is the NET?IAM EXITED TO START RNSG 1209 this summer, as i am sure u are too.:balloons: :roll
