Anyone attending Barry for the Fall 2010 BSN program?

Published

Hey, I just made up my mind to attend Barry in the Fall for their traditional BSN program. I am so excited and I cannot wait to finally begin my studies towards becoming a nurse. I know that I have so much to do to prepare for it and I will be registering for classes this month. Since I am not originally from Florida, I also have to find housing and such before the program begins. If you are attending, or know anyone else that is attending, I can't wait to meet you! Is anyone as nervous as I am about starting?

Hi,

I live about 15 minutes from Barry and I just applied to their accelerated program starting in January 2010. I hope I get in. Anyway, depends on where you want to live, rent can be very expensive down here. Also, Nova and Barry have a contract with Baptist Health which is where the hospital pays for your tuition and you work for them for three years I beleive. Consider this option since the school is expensive and many new grads are finding trouble to get a job. Don't be nervous about starting, be excited. If you are good enough to get in, you can definately do well. Hoped I helped.

Thanks for the info! And yes, it is very expensive to attend Barry, but it is a great school with an excellent nursing program. I hope you get into their accelerated program. I had applied for this past January, but by the time all of my paperwork was sent in, the program was full. However, I am glad that I am starting in the Fall and the extra time allows me to study and prepare even more for the program. What do you have your first degree in? Mines in in Health Services Administration from St. John's University

I started to major in Pharmacy; then, I decided to become a nurse anasthesist, so now I'm finishing my nursing pre-reqs. Then, I hope to finish the accelerated program, work in ICU for about two years, then go to CRNA school. In the future I think I may take a double major in French since I speak it. I wish you the best.

Wow, I am impressed with your future goals :yeah: and I am also thinking of becoming either an nurse anesthesiologist or a pediatric nurse practitioner. Or, I can just focus on becoming a chief nursing officer at a major hospital, lol, so much to think about, but the first step to any of those career paths is a Bachelor's in Nursing! I wish you much success and I hope to see you around campus someday

I with you the best. See you around.

@kristou & @enyalinda Hi! Did either of you end up attending Barry? I'd love to talk with someone who went there. Thanks!
