Anyone attended South Puget Sound Comm. College's Nursing program?

Has anyone attended South Puget Sound Comm. College's Nursing program and if so what did you think of it?

The Captain.

I'm finishing up prerequisites at SPSCC right now. Are you planning to apply for next fall? I'm taking micro right now and there are two students in the program right now. They think it's a great program. How far are you into your prereqs?

Thanks for the fast reply ( I only posted the original @ 3:20AM! :) )

Actually I am just looking at what prerequisites I will need to take. I want to brush up on my math a litttle bit to place higher but everything else was good I think. At this point I have not yet applied for addmission. I have an appontment July 12th to meet with a career planner. One thought I had was to purchase a couple of the text books and read through them while I work on the prereq.s, to get a jump on memorizing things. Any idea what area of nursing you would like to work in when you get finished? I am thinking a hospital with maybe a trauma unit. Not sure yet.

Thanks for your time-

No, I'm not sure which direction I'll be going. Are you from Shelton? If so, have you thought about Olympic College? I can tell you that at SPSCC if you don't have almost a 4.0 in your prereqs you won't get in. The competition is horrible. They admitted 32 students for fall and the lowest grade was one A-.

The prereqs for LPN are Math 101, A & P I & II, Writing 101, Chem 101, two speech/human development courses and for the RN you need Microbiology and Developmental Psychology. I've heard that starting next fall you'll need to be a CNA prior to starting. Good luck!

It is not true that you have to have a 4.0 to get in. I asked the nursing director and she said that only a small percentage of people admitted had a 4.0. The lowest score they admitted in 2008 was an 86 out of 108. don't be so scared of what people tell you about it. It is true that you have to have your CNA licence before you start though.
