Anyone attend Concorde RN program in Aurora?

Published

Hello everyone,

I am interested to know if anyone has attended the program and what their thoughts on it are. I want to know if you were able to get a job after the program was finished and any advice you have. I am just starting to look into my options and any information would be helpful!!

Thanks so much!!

im not on the RN program, i'm in the lpn program. However, currently 2 of my primary instructors are from the RN program.. my A&P instructor (normally teaches only RN) is awful, a sweet RN/instructor but she doesn't know the subject.. and knows less about the daily topics then those in the class. My math instructor (also primarily an RN instructor) she is stuck up, a ***** and doesn't care if we have questions..just flys though lecture. Infact she is 'double booked' and for our 3 hour math class, she is only in there for 2 hours because she has another class to go lecture in. The administration doesn't care that our instructors are 1, not there for the class they are being paid to teach and 2, not knowing the topics for the subject. Another class, PN101 is being taught by an instructor that doesn't want to teach it.. has no idea what the course is about and just shrugs her shoulders when asked for confirmation on a test the following week because she had no idea we had an exam coming up. When you go to the school.. try talking to the students, we get 10minute breaks every hour and group up in the break room, or there are normally a few people outside smoking.

Overall.. if your just trying to hurry up and get your degree so you can get a job but dont really care about your 'education' its a great school.. but ran very poor.

I disagree completely with the above comment....I too am a LPN student at Concorde-Aurora....very close to graduating the program (June 2012)....I have had nothing but excellent instruction and instructors, willing to go above and beyond to help me in my pursuit of my dream, being a nurse....perhaps the student above has had some rough times early on (sounds like a first term student) I know that there was some changes in instructors for the newest class but I can assure you that you will be taken care of and cared for by the DON/ADON and staff, whether you are in the LPN or RN program....I like my experience so much that I am staying on to get my ADN-RN thru the Bridge Program this Fall....go in and talk with the admissions as well as the nursing directors, they will set you straight.....Good luck!....
