Anyone apply to Loyola University Chicago NP programs?

Published

Hello All,

I am preparing to apply to Loyola University Chicago (LUC) for the fall adult np program. I was curious if anyone had any advice or tips about the program. Its ranked #50 so I am a little nervous about how competitive it is. I would appreciate any help you guys can offer. :)

SkeeWeeRN have you found any info on Loyola? I'm thinking of applying for next Fall...

Hey. I was rejected for fall 2013 becuz I only have one year experience. I plan to re-apply. The admission advisor is a great help. Good luck

Update: I got admitted to the adult primary care NP program. I advise everyone to use the admission counselor Amy. She is very helpful with tips & insight.

How did you get accepted in the matter of 14 days?! Your first post you said you were rejected, then got accepted 14 days later!? Awesome for you, how did you do it?! haha

If you don't mind, could you also please share your stats including GPA, and what type of experience you had?! thankss!

Very interested in this school.

I got rejected back in July for fall 2013. After talking to the admission counselor I discovered that it was due to my lack of experience compared to the rest of the applicant pool. Loyola only requires 2000 hours of experience (1year) which I had but the rest of the applicants had about 3 years. I reapplied in October & was admitted in mid December. I think the essay plays a big role as well. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Is it 2000 hours experience to be accepted, or do you just need 2000 before the start of the clinical courses? Based on the website, it seems to be the second, but you are saying its more of the first?

Hey!

How's it going at Loyola? I'm in the middle of the application process for the WHNP program. I know it was a while ago, but did you have trouble writing the personal statement? I'm trying to make sure its just right.

Any insight would be great!
