Hi I just finished a CNA program and was looking into other schools for LVN programs. I narrowed it down to unitek and gurnick and i am going with gurnick because its way closer to my house. After looking into it i saw the next pre-requisites classes start january 7 and the actual classes dont start untill march 23. My question is, to start the rerequistes do you have to have your loans/fafsa/payments in order for the classes when you start the prereqs or can you get that in order during prereqs. Also how often do they do the classes? The website only showed the next class starting march 23 and i was wondering if i cant make that when the next one starts? Thank you so much!!

Hi I was in the class that started last January until i found out I was pregnant & decided to withdraw and go back after my baby was born.

To answer your questions you do not need to have your loans/fafsa/payments in order at the beginning of the prerequisite class. You just need to pay the fee for the prerequisite class & they do allow payments for that.

To my knowledge the LVN program starts twice a year, once in January and in July. I will be starting back next July. Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much! I couldnt find any info on the dates so thats awesome! I will probally try to start then so i might see you :)

Yay!!!! Ok well keep in touch! :-)

Hello did you apply yet? I'm going in on December 2nd

Hello I was wondering how's gurnick? And what's the process like and are their monthly payments require while in school? I'm looking into concord location. I have to take the pre req first then lvn starts in march.

Honestly I was at the very beginning of the pre req class so I can't really give a solid review. I took 3 exams before I had to leave. But the thing I liked the most was the teacher told us the tests would only be on things covered in the book. So if he put up things on the overhead or started talking about random things they wouldn't be on the test. But the strange thing is you have to print the text book yourself chapter by chapter. For what you pay for the pre req course a printed text book should be included.

As far as the process I took an entrance test, met with admissions rep & met with a financial aid person.

If you have to pay a monthly amount will depend on your financial aid award. After filling out the FASFA online the financial aid rep will let you know fast.

My advice is to get whatever paperwork you need to submit in as early as possible. The closer it gets to the start of the new session they get busy in the office & sometimes it's gets harder to reach them by phone.
