If you could get through nursing school, you can pass NCLEX. It is now time to find some academic help or a life coach. My friend, when she was diagnosed with a learning disability while in nursing school (again, because of her sons), went to the disabilities office at school and began to get the help she needed. You need to seek that help too. If nothing else do an internet search for tips on making things easier for yourself. Good luck.
Hey aspiringnurse, I was diagnosed with severe ADHD-PI (primarily inattentive subtype) when I was 17. I finally accepted the diagnosis and began taking medication and doing cognitive behavioral therapy about 2 years ago and it has really worked for me-I'm still waiting for my NCLEX results but I passed my comprehensive predictor (ATI) with an 87, which was the highest score in my school. The good thing about the way they do the NCLEX is it involves no distraction. You are in a cubicle, wearing earplugs, nothing but you and the computer. It allowed me to fully concentrate, and even though it was a difficult test I did not feel at all crippled by my ADHD.
Good luck to you!
MattiesMana, thank you for sharing your experience. I'm happy that you already overcome the Dx unlike me I'm still in denial. I was referred to a Psychiatrist and will be starting treatment by next week and I'm hoping it will help me with my review. Update me on your result, may you pass the exam and be an example.

I just got diagnosed with ADHD together with my 6y/o daughter. No wonder I can't remember anything that Ive'd studied for the nclex! I feel sad and surprised about my daughter because she is in top of her class and always get exempted with her exams. But the only thing that bothered me was she can't focus to finish her worksheet at school and always forgets to submit her homework and so we had to bring her to a psychologist. The doctor who did it recommended that I need to get tested to just to. So me and my daughter came out positive for ADHD.. Now I'm getting depressed for my daughter and for me not passing the NCLEX-RN, I want to ask anybody here if anyone got diagnosed with ADHD and still passed their NCLEX-RN. Any suggestions? Please help:cry:
