Any Waubonsee CC students out there?

Published

Just wondering if there is anyone out there with experience on applying to Waubonsee Community College for the ADN program? Is there a waiting list? Any information on what qualifications matter most? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the information though! I'm just frustrated because we will lose our house if he doesn't get in this quarter.

And congrats on getting in!!!

I understand, but he applied for fall 2010 during the summer when his prereqs were still ongoing, so his first application with all prereqs done was for spring 2010. So I would count on Aug 2011, with a chance of Mar 2011, as some of the people I know did snag some of the last seats, that were in a position like mine. The thing about WCC is that it is the most affordable CC in this area for in-district students at $93 per credit hour. That is why the waiting period has increased. I am sad to hear about your personal situation, as that makes the waiting so much worse...! Keep the faith! :)

Thanks. I've heard NIU does not have a waiting list, or Chamberlain college of nursing.

I really thought Waubonsee was a good school and there to serve the community. They've known they haven't had enough faculty to serve everyone for a year now.

But they are much more expensive!

Plus NIU is a 4 year program

And with stricter GPA requirements. That is why so many people are turning to community colleges...

Chamberlain is $620 per credit hour vs. WCC at $93....

or $7440 per year...

which is double WCC's.

or actually 8 x WCC, since WCC's tuition for nursing is about $8,000 tuition for the whole program

Well, if we have to pay so he gets in right away, then I don't even care. What else can we do?

Hopefully they didn't let in anyone from out of district.

He can also finish his bachelors at NIU in something else entirely if he wants. We're gonna talk about it later. I'm pretty sure he didn't get in. :(
