Hi! I am in my late thirties and new to nursing (few years in). I have a very active social life and love to travel etc. Nursing was never a passion per se, more of a non-desk job that I didn't dread. I have been working as a day shift nurse which by this point I realize is a comparatively easy gig. I am home before rush hour, no nights, get multiple breaks on my shift, and have tons of vacation time. This really suits my lifestyle but I feel bored a lot of the time. It is not the type of nursing I was excited about. For those who have worked a long time, do you have thoughts on getting that 'ultimate' job verses staying put because you have good life balance? (Obviously changing would involve worse hours) I think current job caps salary at a few dollars more than I make so that's a consideration as well, but then again, I don't want to make it all about money. Any stories of wishing you had or had not kept the 'easy' job?
