I've been reading that Kindred is not a good place to work and that you risk losing your license if you work there because of the heavy patient loads. Does anyone know if the one in San Antonio also has a bad reputation? Just curious. I'm a new RN and I am willing to work just about anywhere I just don't wanna risk losing my RN license if I choose Kindred.

The "losing my license" mantra is very over-played. Check out the Texas Board of Nursing disciplinary action pages that they list on their website quarterly. The nurses who lose their licensure typically have issues with addiction, impairment or drug diversion. It is very rare that a nurse will lose a license over mistakes in rendering patient care.
I worked at another Kindred facility a couple of years ago. The only nurse there who lost her license had diverted nearly $10,000 worth of Norco and Xanax from the facility and patients over a time period of nearly a year.

They do their best to not overload the nurses. From what I saw, it was a team of LVN's, RN's, Respiratory Therapist and CNA's on the floor. No unit clerk to enter orders or answer the phone. The patient care is heavy at times due to patient size, immobility, trach care, feeding tubes, dialysis.
