Hi there...
I was wondering if any of you have gone through the endorsement process for licensure with WV?
Also, any thoughts on hospitals, health agencies, convalescent homes, retirement homes that are along the West Virginia/Northern Virginia border?
I look forward to receiving your input. Best wishes for a wonderful evening, and smile often...

Good morning Kathryn;
I am a little unclear as to what you mean, are you asking if WV has endorsement? Are you asking how WV does endorsement? You are checking into Virginia for license.
WVB has always been very nice to me and I have 2 other license. I live close enough to drive up to the office. I always fill my part of the endorsement sheet out, get a money order made out to the WVBRPN (30.00) and hand it in. They always tell me it will be a week, but if I am there early in the AM, I think they do it that day and mail it out quickly.
Virginia has a law that allows a licensed nurse from another state to work for 30 days under that license as long as the nurse has filed for licensure in VA. I know you can call the board for a packet from VA or use the links site on this board for needed sheets. I called the 2 state boards where I got my license and got the packets, fingerprints are required in most states today and you cannot run the cards off from the links. You have to submit a NURSY application in most state also. I did for Ohio and it was another 30.00.
In all my license for Ohio was 185.00. I think that is pretty standard for most states once all of the applications are filled out.
I don't know where you live but larksburg has a new facility and a vA hospital. Romney has a nice facility, they need help. Centra Health in Lynchburg just mailed me a letter yesterday.
I hope this is clear to you. Have you considered Parkersburg, St Mary's, Wheeling, or Huntington? I wish you luck. I know this is a big step for you.
Meant Clarksburg.

Look up newspapers on the us regional site on yahoo. look up WV, click onto complete list and Hampshire county paper will come up on list, it will referr to Romney. It has several jobs listed for nurses. I know a girl who moved up there and was happy and had good working conditions. She needed a change and to get away from ex.
