Hello all!
I am brand new to Allnurses.com. I am a relatively new nurse with less than one year of experience. I feel as if I lucked out and got a really good position as a new graduate nurse. I currently work at a specialty clinic where we have a different doctor each day (4 total docs that take turns using the clinic and staff). At the beginning of the week I work with a nephrologist, the middle of the week is interventional pain management, and then finally orthopedics. Each day that I work (M-Thursday) feels like an entirely different job, which I love! The patients we get for each specialty are so unique and have entirely different personalities. The schedule is amazing, the staff is great, and I feel like this position is a great one to learn and grow in. I do plan on going to RN school and I know in my area it will be very difficult to find an RN position like the LPN position I currently have and I'm certain I would be working on the Med Surg floor once RN school is completed. The hospital I work for paid for my CNA class and then for my LPN school and now I am in the works of getting them to pay for my RN school. I worked as a CNA and ward clerk on the med surg floor for 2 years prior to becoming an LPN and I actually enjoyed it.
Does anyone else work in a position similar to mine? Do you have any tips of going from LPN to RN?
