I'd love to hear how you are doing... do you work? go to school full time? what do you do for daycare? have you found grants to help pay for everything? I'm still in the beginning of my journey but I'd be lying if I didn't say the cost of school and a child among other things doesn't stress me out. Eeeps!

I wish I was a single mom sometimes. I could get money for daycare, school, and more. Being a married SAHM sucks because not only do I have 0 money for anything but I dont 'qualify' for any help either. I cant make more than minimum wage at this point, so I dont have enough money for daycare. When I go to school full time I will have to use a student loan for daycare.
The only way I can pay for school is to take out loans for everything. Just because Im married does not mean I get help from my husband. I do every single thing for these kids and pay the bills or go into debt just like a single mom.

Hi, I'm a single mom to a 9 year old girl. I did get a grant for my summer micro class. I don't have daycare lined up yet. My parents used to watch her while I worked but now I live 45min away from them so its hard for them to babysit. I only work per diem weekends as an ekg tech so u can imagine I do not make much money at all.... it is definitely a struggle doing everything on my own. The way I look at it though is I'm a strong independant person who will work twice as hard to achieve my goal in becoming a nurse. My daughter is my little pal, and she will see how hard mommy works to get what she wants. I know how others feel, its a tough road to go down but we can all survive it! Goodluck with schooling and your situation.

Single mom here. I do work part-time and I swear I work just to pay daycare! My daughter is 2yo and yes I've been fortunate enough to make use of the programs out there for single moms. I'm grateful for them however, there are still many expenses to pay for and daycare is a big one. I'm currently attending school on scholarship because I wasn't eligible for financial aid. There is a wonderful site that can help with scholarships and I'm confident we all will do well. :)
