Does anyone know if there are any online RN-to-BSN programs that don't require shadowing ? As a full time working RN and full time mom I didn't realize more clinical like hours or shadowing would be necessary. I have a friend who did online during Covid and lucked out with this not being a requirement at the time. Just wondering if all school require similar? Any input is appreciated!! ?
Hi, yes. I anticipated 8 weeks, but I went on two vacations with my family, so I took a break.
I am leaning towards Chamberlin online RN to BSN. They told me the course work is one weekly discussion board post and one assignment a week throughout the program. The structure doesn't change even with different professors. Plus, they give you the course work a week before classes start so you can work ahead if needed.

Capella has no required discussion boards, or due dates for assignments, you simply set “Target Dates” for yourself creating your own due dates. I finished in 10 weeks for $3,250.00 with a 3.8 GPA.
Does Capella require job shadowing? I am trying to decide between WGU and Capella for my RN to BSN, I want to do it as quickly as possible.
Hi, there is no shadowing required.
I was looking at Capella's courses for RN to BSN Flexpath, and their final Capstone course NURS4900 states there is direct practicum hours in a patient, family or group setting. I am assuming this means they require clinical hours.

The Capstone course requires that you interview a patient, friend or family member. To complete your capstone project. You will need to log a total of 9 hours that you spent interviewing, teaching and educating the person. If the person lives with you then there you have it LOL.
I just spoke to the enrollment counselor and she said there are no "clinical hours or shadowing required' but there is a practicum/research project so I assume this is what you are referring to. Sounds very good to me!
I chose an easy topic, such as Hypertension to focus on education with my patient.
Yes, that’s correct.
