Hello! I am a new grad taking my boards fairly soon and will be working @ Broward General Hospital ED. Can someone be kind enough to share their experience in general with this hospital/unit? I have heard great things, but other opinions will definetely be welcomed.
Thank you!

I used to work in that hospital. They have their share of issues, just like any place else. But, it is still one of the best hospitals to work at in the whole south Florida area. I don't know what they are paying new grads these days, probably somewhere in the low to mid twenties. But the benefits were excellent, and they do encourage you to continue your nursing education after you are hired. Their ED and open heart surgery center are both brand new. They spent a ton of money on spinning that place into a top notch joint, and they've got some very good people working there, too. Broward General is a Level 1 trauma center, and if you're interested in ER/ICU type nursing its a good place to be because they have brand new state of the art equipment and the place is busy 24/7 so you always have plenty of work.
When I used to work there the nursing supervisor was a real witch. Hopefully her and her pals are gone and the place is better now. The hospital itself is a great place for any new grad to be. Its not easy, because they get some pretty intense patient cases there, but if you like challenge you're going to love it there.
