I'm in newbie NP in job application mode. I am applying for a range of positions--some specialty, some primary care. I feel as though I could find happiness in a wide range of environments, so I'm happy to interview almost anywhere. That being said, I've noticed a couple of occupational health positions, and I am uncertain about whether or not I should apply. On one hand, I'm not entirely sure that I'm interested--I like the public/environmental health component, but I don't know much more about what occ health NPs do. On the other hand, I imagine I could be in over my head with bureaucratic issues, legal claims, work-related injuries, etc. This may not be a good position for a new NP--especially since I have minimal management, teaching, admin experience.
I can tell I'm sort of talking myself out of applying. But I'd like to hear what some of you with experience have to say.
