I'm wondering if anyone has been in this situation. Did you have to take the NCLEX again to get your license back, or did you just take a refresher/reactivation course? Thanks!

Any information on the nature of the revocation? I am sure there are probably some reasons where reinstatement might be a stretch whereas others are doable.
Thanks for your reply. It was revoked due to a disciplinary action taken following a mistake in procedure.
1. depending on the severity of the medical mistake and the (possible) harm to the patient because of it, i would venture to say that your status could be anywhere from totally fixable to permanent. the best thing to do would be to contact your state bon and talk to them about your situation. they would be the ones to tell you best where you stand. if this were a technicality of some sort, like a minor legal issue or otherwise i would have said odds might be better in your favor. medical mistakes however, imo, are usually taken more seriously as it is more of a competence issue than anything else. remember that under your nursing license, you are charged with providing safe, evidence based care focusing on beneficence and nonmaleificence. also, performance reviews from your employer and the type of mistake (how often would another competent nurse make this same mistake) could affect your chances. this is why there is so many checks and balances built into the healthcare system.
in any case good luck with the review process. usually these types of things are decided on a case by case basis. should you get your license back in good standing; you should brush up on things you are unsure of minimize the chances of this happening agian.
