I have read and understood that a new grad needs to have at least 1 year of experience prior to applying for travel work...but I wonder what the prospects are like for a new grad RN with about 1 year of LPN experience?
Thanks!

You need the experience as an RN, unfortunately even if you have ahd over 20 years expereince as an LPN it will not give you the time that you need as an RN. Responsibilities, as per state law, are different.
Good luck.......... :balloons:

Many agencies do require you to have one year RN experience but some don't. I was an LPN for 5 years and had been an RN for 9 months when I got my first assignment and they didnt even mention a thing about the one yr experience. My recruiter was great but they have contracts it seems with smaller hospitals. the pay was even higher than with most agencies. Give it a try. So many people do not give credit for LPN but I know since I have become an RN i have learned very little because LPN's in Tn can do so much. Good Luck
